Hi Book Blog Friends!
I’ve mentioned before I’m new to the blog scene and I’ve been enjoying it so much! I have noticed that most of you (if not all) have a twitter account associated with their blog, and I’m contemplating – should I too start a twitter?
I’ve noticed a lot of authors too have their own twitter account. I just wanted to get your guys opinion on twitter + book blogging, do you like it? Is it worth getting?
I have an active bookstagram account, but I feel like its separate from my blogging world. Sometimes the worlds cross, but more often not.
Let me know in the comments what you think about a twitter account! As a fellow blogger – do you check out fellow blogger’s twitter account or other social media accounts? If you’re a non-blogger, do you like to follow favourite bloggers through other platforms such as Twitter?
Looking forward to chatting with you !!
I’m new to the blog scene myself (tomorrow is my 1 months anniversary lol) so I don’t know if I’m the best to answer. However, I chose to include Twitter as the only other social media I really use is Facebook, but that’s my private account. With Twitter I never used it for anything but following authors, so it was a simple and natural step for me to use it as my blog Twitter.
I do feel like it helps me stay on top of new releases etc. which is always handy. So, if you do end up on Twitter, please let me know 🙂

Good point! Thanks so much for letting me know! I follow a lot of authors on Instagram but I noticed more activity on their twitter accounts!
If I decide too, I’ll for sure let you know :). Thanks friend!

We’ve just made a Twitter and, so far, it’s worth it. Or, we’re learning how to make it worth it. I’ve noticed the same thing about our Bookstagram account. It’s separate and its own thing a lot, but it’s great in its own way.

Yeah I love bookstagram but I think people don’t gravitate into the blog world. I even sometimes forget to go into people’s links.
Thank you so much for your input, I will def check out your Twitter if I decide to join! ☺️☺️

Yes, Twitter is a great way to find new bloggers. I joined a book blogger list through Twitter that has over 200 people on it. My Twitter is my blog name as well. I’m not personally a big tweeter. Use #bookblogger, #bookblog or other hashtags related to the genre of book you read. You can also follow your favorite authors, then follow people who like them as well, and follow their blogs. Sorry for my long winded answer…

To Twitter or not to Twitter was the question for me too for the longest time! I finally made a Twitter a few months ago and I think it’s been a good decision. I don’t actually tweet very much (I honestly don’t know what I’d even talk about) but I think it’s good for learning about the latest book news and finding new bloggers. I’ve followed a ton of blogs that I’ve found via Twitter. I also follow a ton of authors.

Awesome! Thank you for letting me know! I’ve going back and forth on it! But it sounds like most people are having a positive experience!

Both my blog and Twitter are purely book related and new and I guess it is worth it, so many nice authors on Twitter and they do reply to your tweets sometimes 😀

Good point! I would be so nervous to tweet them haha but that’s an interesting point!

I got a twitter account a few months ago and honestly love it! Even though I’m not super active on there, lots of bloggers are and it’s easy to connect with and chat with a lot of people on there! 😊

Amazing!! I’ll start investigating! Maybe I’ll start something soon…

I think Twitter has done a lot for my blog. I’m not super active or anything, pretty much just Tweet each post once. But, I really like when an author/ publisher retweets or comments on my review of their book and Twitter seems to be the easiest way to make that happen.

That’s awesome! Do you just tag them in your post? I’m such a noob at it.

Ya, I just tag them in the post. Sometimes they respond, sometimes they don’t…

I started actively using my twitter account at the end of March and am so glad that I did – it has connected me with so many other bloggers and I have a place to scream and talk about bookish things in “real time.” I love it, and I think it has contributed to my blog’s growth.

Yes! I was thinking about the real time aspect! That’s one thing you can’t get from Instagram (not everyone watches the stories). I started an account but it’s just a shell, I hope to start following and posting shortly!
